1. Summer Saturdays are booking fast
As you may have already discovered, there are some incredibly popular dates for weddings, especially Saturdays during the summer. Online wedding planner Bridebook revealed recently the top five most popular wedding dates in 2018 as:
- Saturday 18 August
- Saturday 26 May
- Saturday 25 August
- Saturday 4 August
- Saturday 28 July
So, if you want a cracking cover band for your wedding, a superb string quartet for your ceremony, or the best Bollywood band and dhol drummers, you’ll need to look AND book before Christmas.
2. Most brides wait until the New Year
Many brides wait until the New Year, by which time most of the best UK wedding and function bands are already booked – hopefully by you! There is always a rush after the holidays, just at a time when many function bands are taking a well-earned rest, and may not be so contactable. What’s more, unlike shops, cover bands and wedding musicians won’t have a sale in January, so there’s very little point in waiting hoping the price might go down…
3. Create a shortlist anytime, anywhere
It’s often hard to find time during the working week to sit down and compare band. However, there’s usually a point before Christmas week when you can curl up on the sofa with your laptop, phone or tablet, and spend an hour browsing some of the best wedding musicians in the business at Matters Musical.
