Sambossa Duo, Trio or Quartet's Bio
Sometimes referred to as ‘Viramundo lite’ Sambossa 4 are a unique UK based Brazilian music quartet that present all the sounds & rhythms of Brazil in a small band format.
Compact but very powerful, with music ranging from sultry bossa nova & grooving afro-funk to blistering samba, they have the ability to delight both the listener and the dancer.
The quartet delivers this original & full sound by the ingenious use of a guitar synthesizer enabling guitar, bass & keyboard sounds at the same time, a small kit/cajon set up providing drums & percussion, strong female vocals & infectious energy completed by beautiful & colourful lines on soprano saxophone & flute.
Featuring:
Elisangela Mahogony from Salvador Bahia on vocals, whose strong voice, infectious energy & sensational stage presence & experience as both a singer & a professional dancer.
The hugely talented, multi instrumentalist Marcelo Andrade (from Rio de Janeiro) playing beautiful & colourful lines on saxophone and flute.
Guitarist Paul Rumbol who leads the band. Paul has immersed himself in World & Brazilian culture from an early age and has been collaborating with the most talented Brazilian performers for more than 25 years. He also plays the cavaquinho (small Brazilian guitar) & sings. Paul utilises his wonderful new guitar synthesiser to bring a full sound to this small line up and enables them to present a complete sound without using any backing tracks.
The driving, grooving percussion and vocal talents of Xavier Osmir from Sao Paulo, Brazil.
