Incredibly Strange Film Band, The's Bio
Formed in 1993, The Incredibly Strange Film Band is a 10-piece group exclusively playing film and TV themes from the 1960s-90s. They perform regularly in clubs, colleges, corporate events, private functions and have appeared on national TV.
The line-up features a powerful and impressive four piece brass section, along with funky rhythm section and percussion. All of the band are experienced live performers (including members of Hot Chocolate, The Coal Porters and Bad Manners) and the material is always delivered with the enthusiasm and freshness of the first time it was performed.
They deliver a diverse and thoroughly entertaining package of 45-100 minutes suitable for any occasion. Wearing eye-catching stage costumes and wigs, they play a varied and intelligent set with music written by some of the world’s greatest composers (Henry Mancini, Lalo Schifrin, John Barry, Laurie Johnson, Herbie Hancock). The ISFB always leave their audience demanding more of their fantabulously superb, silver screen soundtrack magic.
What the press say:
“… does exactly what it says on the tin…” Max Bell, Hot Tickets Magazine
“…stretch out nicely for Get Carter and dust off their bongos authentically for Shaft. Their version of Starsky & Hutch is a positive invitation to jump over a car bonnet…” Rob Beattie, Q Magazine
“… are good. In fact they’re better than good… they’re tight, funky and very funny.” Andy Basire, Making Music
