Philip Clouts – Piano
Alex Keen – Double Bass
Sean Randle – Drums
Alex Keen works regularly on the jazz scene with names such as guitarist Jim Mullen, saxophonist Tim Whitehead and organist Mike Carr. Sean Randle plays the drums with Zubop, Gail Thompson and the North-African jazz fusion band Fantazia. A quartet is now also available with the addition of renowned F-IRE collective saxophonist Carlos Lopez-Real on saxophones.
The mellow, melodic approach of the Philip Clouts Trio has been warmly received at many restaurants and wine bars in and around London, including the Archduke, Pizza Express, Cafe Med and at jazz venues such as The 606 Club, The Vortex, Farnham Maltings, The Royal Festival Hall and The Spitz Arts Centre.
Philip Clouts’ career has included playing at Ronnie Scotts, Birmingham Symphony Hall and Glastonbury and WOMAD festivals, and regular radio play on BBC Radio 3, Radio London, Radio Scotland and Jazz FM.
“The trio cook up some nice, tricky rhythms to keep you alert and control an impressive range of dynamics.” (Dave Gelly, The Observer)
